At Noir Naturals we’re celebrating by naming our 2014 Green Living award winner.  Congratulations to Andrea Tore and Jenna Cheslock!  Andrea was nominated by Jenna, who had this to say about her friend:

Andrea has a website called Living Green and Loving It.  Although she does what she can to live green overall, she focuses most on eating green.   She loves to cook, and shares her delicious, healthy, green recipes on her website.   She uses all organic and, whenever possible, local foods.

Congratulations to you both!  As the winner, Andrea will receive a $50 gift certificate and Jenna will receive a $20 gift certificate.

Fun at the New Orleans French Quarter Festival

Spring has sprung down south and we decided to take the weekend off and celebrate.  Our team members each had something fun to do and most plans started and ended with festivals.  We decided to swing into New Orleans for the 2014 French Quarter Festival.

There were other sights and sounds, but we want to see yours.   If you checked out a festival in your area, show or tell us about it this week on TwitterFacebook, or G+.  And don’t forget about our Green Living Award.  There are just a few days left to enter.

Message from Noir Naturals’ owner: Changes

Hi everyone,

It is with deep regret to share the news on a difficult decision my wife and I had to make. Effective December 22nd we will be closing the store due to my health. We really enjoyed having the store which made it an even harder decision. We made some great connections, gained new customers and major wholesale accounts as well.

During my recent hospitalization over the week of Thanksgiving my pulmonologist gave me a serious warning that I needed to reduce my work schedule to focus more on my health. Having to be in the store 40+ hours of the week was not helping my recovery along, and the doctor advised that if I continue at this rate I could have a fatal end. With the store closed and a part-time flexible weekly schedule, I will be able to fully concentrate on my pulmonary rehab and get better at a faster pace. I am getting better currently, but slower than I should be.

The good news is that though the store is closing, Noir Naturals is not. We will open by appointment and everyone is welcomed to come by to shop like in the past, or catch a glimpse of products being made. Just like in the past you can contact us and let us know when you would like to come by and we’ll be waiting for you. Our telephone number will remain the same and we will still be at all our regular shows, and a few news ones in 2014. We are also working on our list of new products for next year, all of which you requested and we are very excited.

We will consider a store again in the future but right now my recovery is paramount. We wish to thank you for all of your support, concern, well wishes and prayer over the past year. God bless!

Charles

We’re in both NOLA and Ponchatoula this weekend. What about you?

We'll have some of everything with us at bot shows this weekend.

We’ll have some of everything with us at bot shows this weekend.

Yes, we’re pulling double duty!  We’re participating in two events and hope to see you at at least one of them.

Join us in NOLA for the Helen Brett International Jewelry Fair/General Merchandise Show at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.  We love this one because we get to meet up with so many of you and it’s in NOLA – what’s not to love?  This one’s an industry show and no one under age 16 will be permitted. Qualified buyers pay no admission!  Look for us in booth 670 from 10-6 Saturday through Monday and from 10-3 on Tuesday November 5.

We’ll also be in Ponchatoula for the Antique Trade Days.  Members of the Noir Naturals team will spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday  from 9-5 in downtown Ponchatoula.   This event is free, family-friendly, and includes something for everyone, including face painting, an inflatable slide, and other children’s activities.

Our retail shop will be closed this weekend.

So, will we see you?

Headed to Vacherie!!

We love this time of year.  It’s time for the Fall Arts ad Crafts Festival at Oak Alley Plantation!  Vacherie is especially lovely in fall, and we love it there.  Come see us on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am – 5 pm.

Because we can’t be in two places at once, our store in Ponchatoula will be closed on Saturday.  As always, our online shop is open 24/7.  Don’t forget the Spooky Savings Sale.

Will you join us on Saturday or Sunday?

Oak Alley Plantation Fall Arts and Crafts Show is coming!

We cannot wait to see these tour ugides again!

We cannot wait to see these tour guides again!

We’re like kids on Christmas break – excited, giddy, and downright bouncy.  Oak Alley Plantation does it to us every time.  We always say this, but this arts and crafts festival will be the best.

On Saturday October 26 and Sunday the 27th, we’ll be back in Vacherie.  This will be our first trip to Oak Alley since we opened the retail store and we’ll have new products with us.  Three new coconut milk vegan soaps, a selection of fall and holiday soy wax cubes, and our new Hair and Scalp Oil will all be on hand.  We’ll also have our reformulated Dead Sea Mud Mask and 100% Pure Argan Oil with us.

Will you join us on Saturday or Sunday?

New store hours and more

Check out our new beeswax cubes!

Check out our new beeswax cubes!

Happy Fall!  We just plain love this time of year.  The temperature starts to change, nights get a little longer, and we hit the road.  We love the fall show season and have a few stops planned.  Before we hit the road, we made some changes.

First, we’ve changed our store hours.  Not by much, but we think you’ll like it. Come see us from 10 am until 6 pm Tuesday through Friday and 9-3 on Saturday.  We’re closed on Sundays and Mondays.

We’re adding new products to the inventory.  New coconut milk vegan soaps are coming and new beeswax cubes are in the works.  Everyl-Ann made her first batch this past weekend while running the shop. In addition, keep your eyes open for the 2013 line of fall and holiday scented soaps and wax cubes.

Finally, we’ve tweaked our show schedule a bit.  Our first stop is in Hammond this weekend.  On Friday, September 27, join us at the 2013 Brews Arts Festival.  This one is strictly for the 21 and over crowd.  From 5-9 pm enjoy music, arts and crafts from local and regional artists, live demonstrations, food by Kevin Cote, fresh homemade sangria, and an extensive selection of beer.  Tickets are $20 per person in advance or $25  at the door.  Get your advance tickets from the Hammond Arts Center during regular gallery hours, by phone at 985-542-7113, or online.  Hope to see you on Friday behind the Arts Center in the Morrison Alley parking lot.

A message from Noir Naturals’ Owner

Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for your prayers and concern.  My most recent hospital visit was a really scary moment for my family and me, but I knew GOD was in control, and everything would be alright.  As everyone knows, the soap making process involves dealing with lye, and it can be quite dangerous if not done properly.  From here forward I will have to take a lot more precautions when making our soap.  Soap making is something I love and a passion for me, especially when someone tells me how much it has helped them in some way.  I am going to keep bringing all of you the soap you expect, and look forward to seeing everyone at the shows soon.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers, as we will be praying that GOD shows us the best direction for the business.  Please also keep any suggestions coming our way.

Again, thank you for your prayers and concerns over the last 2 weeks.

Charles
