We cannot wait to see these tour guides again!

We’re like kids on Christmas break – excited, giddy, and downright bouncy.  Oak Alley Plantation does it to us every time.  We always say this, but this arts and crafts festival will be the best.

On Saturday October 26 and Sunday the 27th, we’ll be back in Vacherie.  This will be our first trip to Oak Alley since we opened the retail store and we’ll have new products with us.  Three new coconut milk vegan soaps, a selection of fall and holiday soy wax cubes, and our new Hair and Scalp Oil will all be on hand.  We’ll also have our reformulated Dead Sea Mud Mask and 100% Pure Argan Oil with us.

The Reviews Are In: Baby Noir is a Hit!

We love children and waned to develop a product just for them.  Baby Noir was born in 2012 and you love our new addition as much as we do.

Like all of our products, Baby Noir is colorant-free, paraben-free,and handmade with love.

Baby Noir is colorant-free, paraben-free, and, like all of our products, handmade with love.

Tracy from Gheens, LA says:

“My baby had eczema where his pamper touches his leg.  I bought a goat milk soap from Cracker Barrel to use on him but I did not like it.   I saw no difference in his eczema.  I’ve been using your baby soap on him and he no longer has eczema.  The soap smells good and he sleeps well. I am very happy. “

Elizabeth from Houma, LA agrees:

“We used the baby soap on our baby last night.  The smell was very mild, which I think is appropriate for a baby.  Also, he has super sensitive skin and I am happy to report that he had no reaction.  It left him soft and smooth. I am so excited to keep using it.  You have no idea how much peace of mind this gives me as a parent, to find a local, handmade, natural soap for my baby’s nightly bath, it’s a dream come true! Thanks Noir Naturals!”

Baby Noir is specially formulated to soothe sensitive skin.  We add organic chamomile and soothing lavender essential oil to this creamy soap to help wee ones of all ages relax after bath time.   As always, Baby Noir is colorant-free, paraben-free, and handmade with love.

We donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of each Baby Noir Goat’s Milk Soap to Be An Angel Children’s Organization, located in Houston, TX.  Be An Angel helps improve the quality of life for children with multiple disabilities or profound deafness.

If you want product for the wee one with no added scent, try our Age of Innocence Goat’s Milk Soap.  Baby Noir, Age of Innocence, and all of our soaps are available by the bar or loaf.  Age of Innocence is also available as a lotion and perfect for babies or anyone seeking a scent-free moisturizer free of added fragrance.  And unlikebaby_soap_and_lotion_2some conventional unscented products, when we say unscented or scent-free, we do not include additional ingredients to mask the natural scent.

Fight the Flu Naturally

Washing your hands often with soap and water can go a long way in keeping the flu bug at bay. Our lavender goat's milk and coconut milk vegan soaps are naturally anti-fungal, antiseptic, and soothing.

Washing your hands often with soap and water can go a long way in keeping the flu bug at bay. Our lavender goat’s milk and coconut milk vegan soaps are naturally anti-fungal, antiseptic, and soothing.

This flu season is a truly nasty one.  48 states have been hit by it resulting in thousands of hours in lost productivity, misery, and just plain grumpies.  Members of the Noir Naturals team are fighting it themselves or nursing a loved one back to health.  The flu shot is not the only defense against this wicked bug.  There are ways to reduce and possibly avoid the misery that comes with this unwelcome visitor.

We are not medical professionals.  We just wanted to share what we’ve heard about how others are finding relief.

First up, cleaning and covering up.  These are old school practices, but we tend to lose sight of those things sometimes.  Wash your hands often with soap.  Keep unclean hands away from your face.  When you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth with your arm or elbow, not your hands.  And if you’re not the one coughing or sneezing, keep in mind that not everyone will remember to do cover or wash up.

Head into the kitchen and whip up system-strengthening goodness.  Pumping up your menu will help you strengthen your immune system all year.  Dark greens, coconut oil, onions, garlic, ginger, citrus fruit, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and hot foods that warm the body and spirit are all said to work wonders. We’ve also stumbled across various pins and recipes for ginger, lemon, and honey tonics and syrups that people swear by.  We even found a flu fighting sorbet with bourbon, honey, ginger, lemon, orange, and cayenne.  One of our team members keeps ginger honey syrup on hand and uses it year round.  She says it makes fantastic lemonade.  Herbal remedies that include elderberries and Echinacea are said to fight off the flu bug as well.

Has the flu hit you or your loved ones?  How do you fight it?  Share your tips and suggestions with us on Twitter, Facebook, or G+.  We’ve pinned some of our favorite recipes on our Nommable Nosh board on Pinterest.  Here’s to better health!

As 2012 came to a close, my wife and I looked back at the year Noir Naturals had.  I could not be happier.  Noir Naturals continues to grow and I owe it all to you, our customers, fans, followers and well wishers.  As you know my health was a challenge last year, but thanks to the great team of folks that I work with, we were able to keep things moving forward.  To all the folks that make Noir Naturals run well everyday, I thank you for all your contributions and dedication!

As we review our business plans for 2013 I am excited because of what we have in store.  If you have not seen our 2013 Resolutions please click here to view them.  We have incorporated feedback from you into our resolutions, and I believe we are set up for an even better year.  We always appreciate all of your comments and feedback, so please keep them coming.

Throughout the last few years many of you have asked and encouraged us to secure a fixed location on the Northshore and/or Southshore (in Louisiana), where you can come by to shop in between shows.  We are working to make this happen, and will have more information as the year progresses.

To this end I wish you God’s blessings for 2013, and look forward to seeing and/or hearing from all of you again this year.

Charles
