From a rough start to 2014, to a strong end to 2014, and onto an exciting start to 2015.

I am so glad it’s a new year, because I sure had a rough 2014. My wife and I started 2014 with much excitement and plans for Noir Naturals, but we got slightly derailed as my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February. I took a sabbatical from the business for most of the year to take care of mom and deal with grief after her passing in July. It was a rough year personally, but I’m happy to say that Noir Naturals had a great year, and ended 2014 strong.

I was particularly pleased with how well our natural soap fundraising program did this year. Noir Naturals was able to not only partner with non-profit organizations and individuals to help them raise funds, but we gave back to the community as well. We donated 54.4 lbs of food to Our Daily Bread Food Bank in Hammond, LA, and donated the rest of fundraising program proceeds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Metairie, LA.

happy new year 1We will be starting the year off teaching a couple soap making history sessions, and soap making classes to more than 50 students. A few months ago the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, Chalmette Battlefield invited us to their 200th Commemoration of the Battle of New Orleans. We are excited to be a part of this historical event scheduled for later this week, on January 9th and 10th.

We have a number of wonderful plans for the rest of 2015, including finishing up our shampoo and conditioner line. We will be discontinuing a couple products that ran their life cycle, but will be replacing them with exciting new ones. We will be expanding our recently launched aromatherapy line, and working on a couple special customer product requests as well. And as usual we will have new lotion and soap scents introduced. We will continue to keep you posted as things progress.

In June, 2015 we will celebrate our 5th year in business. I am very thankful to God for the growth we have experienced in our business the past years. We will have a very special promotion in June to commemorate this 5 year achievement.

Here’s to a happy, healthy and awesome 2015!

About Noir Naturals

The idea behind Noir Naturals stems from the good ole days as some would say it. We often sit back and remember the days when we were children playing outside all day. Dusk would be approaching and our mothers and grandmothers would call us inside. When inside an old black and white classic of Andy Griffith would be playing on television. Granny would tell us to run out to the garden, get a tomato and bring it in. She’d slice it up and we’d have it for dinner. The memories of those days still permeate our minds and it symbolizes a simple, safe, natural time in our lives. In those days one could leave the doors unlocked at night without worry. Our great grandmothers churned butter, made and cut soap for use at home. That was the norm back then. While Netflix and others do a great job of listing Noir movies for us to relive some of the ole days, we wanted to continue those days in more of a practical way today. In the ole days things were natural and not made with chemicals. We therefore wanted to go back to those times and make products that are not only good for your skin and body, but are also pure, natural, simple and safe, just as the ole days were. Our products are paraben free, not tested on animals and do not contain any artificial dyes or pigments. We invite you to go back in times with us to those good ole days, with our Noir Naturals products, to experience Yesterday Once More.
